24-Freak Scene (with Kevin Drew) Lineage: Stealth recorded and minimally produced by mrsaureus, standing center floor thirty feet back from the stage. Core-Sound High End Binaurals (DPA-4060 capsules) to Sony PCM-M10 (48 kHZ, 24 bit), WavePad Sound Editor to provide modest global amplification and cut into songs and SoundForge to create 16 bit/ 44.1 kHz FLACs. This is an audience recording that aims to document the experience of being in the crowd at the show, and features occasionally loud but appropriate crowd noise. Some people asked for the 16/44.1, so here it is. Read these: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/dinosaur-jr-...ny-marr-20121202 http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2012/12/dinos...jr_and.html#more "The second half of the show is the stuff legendary bootlegs are made of." -Brooklyn Vegan Holy crap! The 2012 concert season is coming to an absolutely unbelievably rocket ship strong finish. Incendiary performance by Neil Young & Crazy Horse a few days ago, the Rolling Stones coming up in a couple of weeks, and in between, this titanic indie rock extravaganza. I don’t have all that much to say about it that you can’t read on Rolling Stone or Brooklyn Vegan. Everybody has pretty much declared that this is one for the history books. Me and Pete got to Terminal 5 at 7 PM sharp when the doors opened and the first surprise was that the line was already all the way down to 12th Avenue. People got in early and took up their spots and mostly didn’t even go back for drinks. The crowd was excitable, with a fair amount of surfing, and one tall beleaguered bouncer behind a barrier at the front to keep the surfers off the stage. Up front it got pretty bouncy but never erupted into full mosh. Most bands don’t like that anymore and will usually call it out. And best of all, etiquette-wise, no thrown beer. As we were walking out of the club, I was thinking about how around the time Pete was born I was listening to Where You Been almost non-stop, and now more than 20 years later he’s at the show with me. The sublime pleasures of fatherhood. And this is one I think we’ll remember.

(after 2 hours 30 minutes)
Johnny Marr, half of Sonic Youth, and Lou Barlow all in the same gig? My idea of heaven! Not a big fan of Dinosaur Jr but should be well worth a listen, thanks.
