Reading the story about the band, I knew there was a session (Troy Tate) at the beginning of the debut album.
Curious I started to look for sites who had these sessions, but I quit after having many gaps in downloads on the servers.
Later I find out the You Tube channel: "just, Morrissey & The Smiths" - hipsterdisco (many thanks) and noticed that on the
description had a link that brought me here! Voraciously started looking for these sessions and saw I had many torrents of
these sessions and I had no idea how these mixes were present in these sets (I found information on the site). So I downloaded
those who are below and I decide to look for out for help here. :D

Hi Lucas. Welcome!
Here are what I think are the best version of the various Troy Tate mixes.
MISC - Troy Tate Rehearsals [FLAC, Pablo Cuckoo, bellapintura]
MISC - Troy Tate Sessions (Misc) [FLAC, Studio, Soundville Paul Analog Loyalist Remaster]
MISC - Troy Tate Sessions (Misc) [FLAC, Studio, Soundville Paul savbomb Remaster]
MISC - Troy Tate Sessions (TATE1) [FLAC, Studio, Troy Tate Sessions]
MISC - Troy Tate Sessions (TATE2) [FLAC, Studio, Troy Tate Rare Mix]
MISC - Troy Tate Sessions (TATE3) [FLAC, Studio, rdtorrents Rough Trade Demos]
Lots more info here:

If you want the best version to listen to, then I'd suggest a remaster of Paul's tape, which was a cassette recorded directly off the master tapes, albeit not necessarily the 'final' version. It's a confusing topic!

Confusing indeed, and a topic on which round here you should expect to be quizzed at any time. Better start studying NOW... prepare or be square!
(all very much   and with a couple of nudges, of course)

Yeah I have several of these and have tried winnowing out dupes, but I can't seem to tell if some are the same versions but sound a little different because of the source quality, mixing, or whatnot. Anyway, I have
Troy Tate Sessions Demos
Troy Tate Sessions - Tate+
Troy Tate Sessions - Set 2
Troy Tate Mixes (Soundsville source)
The Troy Tate Sessions (Alternate mixes)
The Troy Tate Sessions
Color me Troy Tated out and confused. :-)

I would just like to say thank you to all the people who have uploaded these various Troy Tate sessions making them available to one and all.
Whilst I have always been a fan of The Smiths I have never been that obsessively into them as I have been with other bands. I brought the début album aged 16 (with my supplementary benefit!) and given it's 30 years since it's release my interest has picked up once more. I am amazed at all the different Troy Tate versions and am making my way through them one by one and my share ratio must be appalling - I will seed these for as long as possible.
Thanks again.

For what it's worth Tate1 is still my favourite.
