It's faster. To match Hulmerist, it would need slowing down. I make it 1.42246%. The two are very clearly from closely related sources, but Hulmerist sounds fuller, with more bass. I don't know whether that's mastering, vinyl versus DVD, lossy duplication or the rip.
Also there's Sweet And Tender Hooligan that was issued as a B-side (Interesting Drug?) do you think that needs correcting the same amount?
I had a go at slowing Stop Me down by 1.42246% and to my ears at least it sounded too slow like that but the speed on the Demos & Instrumentals boot varied between songs so maybe that's the case here too.
I'm happy with it as it is anyway, but if Analog Loyalist fancies a go at a remaster I'd like to hear it :)
To match the official version of SATH, it needs to be slowed by 1.512%. I don't really know what would account for the variance, but my best hunch would be one correction for side A and another for side B. If there's a bit of crowd noise at the end of the first side that's repeated at the start of side two, then it will be possible to test that the theory. The other thing is that it may be wrong to assume that the official versions are at the right speed - in particular, editing with analogue video may tend to make it hard to keep everything spot on. A difference of less than 0.1% is fairly trivial, though.
When I slow down Stop Me, it sounds fine. Don't forget that the beginning of this one is not going to sound right at any speed.

I always go on Moz's vocals, to me it sounds more natural as it is. But I could be wrong.
Would love to know why Gannon was so bad that day, you'd have thought they'd have rehearsed if only for a short while?
Tbf he does do a great version of Suedehead but he spends 1.5 minutes messing about with his guitar beforehand (or sounds like it).

I was in Wolverhampton in 1988, but six months earlier... This concert has been an obsession for 25 years. Thank you so much, really.

Great upload, thank you!
It's a shame that all those recent high quality bootlegs came out on vinyl only. A lossless transfer from the original source to CD would have been a dream!

Suspect the idea was to make it difficult to make perfect copies of them.
Once they're in circulation online like this is now the bootlegs become worthless, near enough.

OMG! Cant believe that someone has finally had the conviction to release this. What a souvenir. I am actually in two minds whether to play it or not or leave it for a day when I need cheering up....
I know that several people have the video so you are right once it gets out, well its out for ever isnt it?

Mike Joyce is fantastic on this.
The reason it sounds a bit hit and miss on the whole
is that so many people got on the stage to hug M and
the rest of the band (you've seen the video!) ...
People were constantly grabbing everyone so it's
amazing they played as well as they did ... you can
hear people standing on Craig's pedals and sending
his sound all over the place ... Craig wasn't playing
badly, he was being hugged and jostled by 40 people
at a time ... you try to play perfectly when that's going
on!
Like I say though, to me, Mike Joyce is that absolute
star of the show ... incredible performance!

I have to agree that this is an amazing performance! Given the fact that the band had probably very little time to rehearse the songs and that the crowd was running all over the stage, I'd say they did an admirably job there! Not to mention that this is basically The Smiths minus Johnny Marr. I wish that Morrissey had kept that line up for a little longer ... not saying anything against The Lads, though.
