When writing a Dual Layer DVD (or DVD9), I have used this method for years, and currently with my latest burner:
How to write DVD Video files directly to double layer media using ImgBurn
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1780
my DVD DL Burner is Sony (even though it's labeled "Emprex", my PC's Bios tells me Sony) and it tends to co-operate well with Verbatim DVD+R DL DISCS not DVD-R DL (like the article mentioned above).
I just burned this to a dual layer dvd using img burn, popped into a PS3, and was got an error messeage related to region codes. I'm in America, used a DVD burner set to region code 1. Is there a way to change the region code on a burn?
updated again, sorry about that, but a quick check in IFOEdit confirms the region codes:

DVD shrink will burn it an make it region free. just burn it without compression
you can also use dvddecrypter. that's what i ended up doing last night!

Thanks to everyone for the burning tips. Having tried a couple of them, I realised the problem was my Sony DVD drive. Just installed a brand new Plextor and burned in Nero 9 with ease. Playing it now. it's wonderful, and well worth buying the new drive for

Can someone explain a little technical stuff to me?
What determines your UL Ratio/Transfer/Speed ratios? I am currently seeding and was just curious about that. I would take a guess that it's your internet connection speed, but that's just a guess...just curious. Merry Xmas to all and thanks for all the generous uploaders & seeders on here!!

You will transfer at whatever your internet connection allows you. Your torrent client might have speed restrictions for upload and download too. Of course, the speed at which you upload and download is also dependent on the people you're sharing with.
I think if you let your ratio get too low, then the system here limits the amount of files you can download at once.

by using the tutorial laid out here [Full Disk - NO COMPRESSION]:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/fulldisk_basic.php
which confirms what Dr. Wolfenstein stated, here is the screenshot of the re-worked DVD structure's VIDEO_TS.IFO file:

of course I put it in a different folder altogether. 8)

I also encountered problems while trying to burn the files on a double layer disc. Tried different programs and another disc, but I always got an error message that the IFO files are bad. I don't know if anybody else has this particular problem or how I can fix this. Maybe I should download the files again? Any hint welcome! Edit: I´m now trying the IMGBURN-tutorial supplied by MacPhisto247 (thanks).
Thanks!

I bought cheap DL dvd's and Toast 7 titanium burned it no problem. Had a few problems to start with because the Toast software didn't/doesn't automatically recognize the dual layer disc. Just above the red record disc button is a drop down menu that let's you select CD/DVD/DVD DL.Never used it before because normally it selects the type of disc automatically. You must have to select the DVD DL option manually for some reason. Hope this helps some of you Mac poeple.
