many moons a go i worked in a second hand record shop and remember an odd rarity , which i'm kicking myself for not buying , as far as i can remember it was a cassette that was given away as part of a promotion . i think it was with teabags or something , i vaguely remember it being called something like the 12" of the smiths or something like that . does anybody know of the track listing or if it contained anything that i should cry about ? thanx in advance

The 12" mixes, Australian only release on CD and cassette.
I've got the tape somewhere.
Wasn't a free gift though, think i paid £6.99 for it mail order from a record shop in the NME.

This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now?, Bigmouth Strikes Again, Ask and Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before.
Thinking it's the NY mix of TCM on it but as i've not played it for 15-20 years i'm not certain!

Sounds familiar, the other artists were genuine 12" extended mixes whereas with The Smiths they were either the only versions or were full length rather than 7" edits, TCM NY being the only genuine 12" mix.

Well tastes for everybody, i like Pinkl Floyd but i don't like Roger Waters solo.
Have you heard The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, that's a brilliant solo album
