The Smiths
Royal Court, Liverpool, UK
February 8th, 1986
0. (intro)
1. Shakespeare's Sister
2. I Want The One I Can't Have
3. Vicar In A Tutu
4. Frankly, Mr Shankly
5. (Marie's The Name) His Latest Flame/Rusholme Ruffians
6. The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
7. Cemetry Gates
8. Nowhere Fast
9. What She Said (fade-in)
10. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
11. Bigmouth Strikes Again
12. William, It Was Really Nothing
13. Meat Is Murder (cut in middle)
14. Stretch Out And Wait
This is rip of a CD I bought from D. Jones sometime back. According to him he made it off of his master recording.
The sound quality is about average for his recordings. It's a shame he didn't put in a new tape during the encore break!
Enjoy!

Doesn't anyone find that this doesn't sound like an audience recording? It sounds like those Grant Showbiz tapes...

It's probably the best of the three master recordings we have here, but I think it's still an audience. The applause sounds too close to the mic for it to be a soundboard IMO.

Cool! Thanks for this. It was the first time I saw the Smiths. I'd just had my 18th birthday and this was my treat to myself. I didn't want to miss such a great line-up and ended up spending the night in Liverpool bus station with a mate trying and failing to sleep, as we'd missed out last bus back to Bradford. I seem to remember the Margi Clarke doing something too, maybe just compering. She was one of the many actresses Morrissey was infatuated with at the time. Also, on a pedantic note, I think it was ''With love from Manchester" rather than "From Manchester with Love".
