I'm trying to burn the Smiths 12.12.86 gig. The dvd that has the "somebody waved goodbye" audio.
When I try to play the burned dvd in my dvd player, the video is messed up. It looks like vhs with bad tracking. I'm not referring to the quality of the film, It's on the menus and everything. Like a "rolling" effect... I can't describe it really. Can't even really see the picture at all.
Am I not burning the disc properly? I'm using dvd-r discs and Nero to burn.
I've never actually done this before, so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong.
If anyone could help, I would be very thankful.
Thank you!

The DVD is in PAL (European) format which it seems your DVD player is struggling with.
Are you able to view it on your PC?

Wait, you mean can I view the dvd on my pc don't you...
well, I dunno. See, I'm saving the files to an external hard drive, then using a friends dvd burner, so I can't try that right now.
Is there anybody who would be willing to burn and mail me a copy?
I would be willing to pay!

The problem is more likely to be the DVD player you're trying the disc on rather than the disc itself.
If you can, try a few more DVD players.

You can play practically any media file with this free software, even incomplete downloads:

ray afraid,
your best bet it to purchase a cheap DVD player that will can play both PAL/NTSC.
I picked up a cheap as chips "memorex" DVD Player for $20 last year, it plays everything I throw at it.
Not that I don't mind playing my DVD's on my Daewoo as well Razz
Before you buy, go here to do some background checks on the player you are looking at.

Hope this helps!

BTW_ if you are to shop in store to purchase a new player, I would advise you to brings a few DVD's with you to play and check for yourself if the model indeed plays both.
Most stores have models on display that will do this.
Cheers!
