//William It Was Really Nothing
//Miserable Lie well ... there's not really much to add from last week. The gig itself was a bit lack-lustre, especially compared to the rest of the tour. The hall itself didn't help ... it was all seated, and quite open, and the crowd were a bit liad back. Still we noticed that Morrissey changed the words to Stretch out and wait ... and of course, with nothing better to do, started speculating afterwards about why. Later, having learnt that he's spent the previous 3 days filming for the tube with Margi Clarke, we came up with all sorts of mad stories. THe devil makes gossip for idle fans to swap!
Next day we were up to Aberdeen to book the overnight Ferry to the Shetlands. We had that sorted by lunchtime, and having found somewhere to leave the car for the 2 days we'd be away, we wandered into the town to check it out. We went into Virgin, and to our surprise bumped into Johnny and Morrissey browsing the cassettes. They were in a very friendly chatty mood, looking forward to seeing the Shetlands. They were flying over, like sensible rock stars. I hovered in the background like the scardy cat that I am, while Paul asked to see what they were buying and chatted away. After half an hour or so, they left, saying they'd see us the following day in Lerwick. Again this was recorded using my Sony Professional Walkman with Sony EMC-929LT Mic onto Metal tape

Steve - thanks for this, it is utterly amazing your recollection of every show you've taped comes out as a story worth reading (BRAVO to you!!!).

Can anyone decipher what Morrissey sings in the extended live outro of "Meat is Murder"? He did this on and off on this leg of the tour. I can only decipher "nothing at all" repeated. Thanks to Steve again, these recordings sound amazingly good for audience ones. Stephane

Sorry, I can't make out anything more than you can, but I love it when Morrissey is vocalizing like that. For me, the most poignant ad libs on Meat Is Murder are those in the performance at the Royal Court in Liverpool, February 1986.

Hi Steve, yesterday i heard the soundcheck ... today the gig is in my player ... The more I hear from this leg of the 1985 tour, the closer I come to the opinion that these were on of their best concerts. Thanks to all the seeders too. Stubs
