I know .. I love how Johnny bends over to check on the crushed Morrissey! There's a lot of interaction between the two of them of this video.
Amazing energy captured perfectly by the recording - something that I think lacks in the professionally filmed gigs I've seen.
It's tough to pick a favourite out of these 1986 gigs. I wonder if any footage from the American leg will ever surface? There must be some lurking somewhere!

Thanks for the kind words. I think it helped that I'd been to pretty much every show ... you sort of know where the camera should be pointing at any given point in the set.
That record collector article was a bit damning of all the videos though.

I like Palladium best, some excellent camera work. The one from the balcony which shows the view from behind the band is very good as well (Nottingham?) The first leg Salford one is just a very special gig, love that. Don't really remember this one in particular, will have to re-watch at some point. Must have been a good gig as it was what made Moz play his first solo show there.

Yes, Salford is superb. And you're correct re: Nottingham. Pretty mad seeing the band from that angle, and getting to see the front few rows dancing/staring and looking extremely 80s! Steve, I think RC only used youtube as a gauge, and these films look and sound so much different on DVD. I suppose they helped raise some awareness - it gave me a kick up the arse to (finally!) register here. Up until recently my video collection consisted of Hacienda/Derby/Hamburg and Madrid only so I'm very happy!
