Hi All,
I just need to say that The Messenger is excellent from start to finish. Classic Johnny Marr songs. I'd go as far as to say "Masterpiece".
I've heard of a lot of people dismissing it after one or a few plays. This is ridiculous. I suggest giving it another chance. You'll be glad in the long run.
Great stuff Mr Marr.

I agree totally, it is excellent from start to finish.
I managed to get to see him in Cambridge, I didn't know whether playing live he'd be able to do the album justice but what a performance he gave.
I even thought he did pretty good vocals on the Smiths songs that he did :D

Nice one Rob. I hope he extends his tour.
I have the gig he did at Night & Day In Manchester. I'm guessing that's pretty similar.
Haven't seen him live since the Cribs.

Was a grower for me, sounded bad on the guardian website but bought it, had a few listens, put it in the car to listen to to work and now I love it. Not sure what he's singing about mostly but they're great indie tunes, more influenced by bands he's himself influenced like Franz Ferdinand than by the Smiths directly.
