Here's a link to the 6music broadcast. Might be better than what you have already.

Stephane"As for your comment about "Cool About You": I remember being in contact with the makers way back when this was being put together. If I remember well, they couldn't get the official BBC tapes (but probably still had their permission), so they used someone's home recording which they cleaned up as much as they could." I was involved in the "Cool About You" CD, and in fact lent RPM my "Reel Around The Fountain" CD, which I'm still waiting to get back!! They didn't use that because of the interference on it,. so as Stephane says, went with someone's cassette - not sure whose. There weren't any official BBC tapes, presumably as it was a live-on-air broadcast. Tim

FWIW, the complete BBC sessions were put out as a Rough Trade promo.

The tape in question is not a promo, but an in-house reference tape presumably used in the making of "Hatful Of Hollow". Another such tape has the two subsequent BBC sessions. Stephane

I'm double-posting between here an moz-solo. Anyhow. I edited and converted the recent 6Music broadcast of How Soon Is Now. It's lossy but better than most versions out there. The beginning is good but the end fade is slightly chopped. get_iplayer (128K AAC) > MediaCoder (44100hz PCM) > Audacity (Edited FLAC). The Smiths - How Soon Is Now (Peel Session - Live Music Hour 2011-12-04).flac
