I'm currently using Nero version Six but looking to upgrade to something better since it doesn't burn MP4s. My main usage is to burn images of torrents I've dl'ed but I also like to make compilations once in a while.
BTW I'm not sure if its my burner or Nero software, but more and more I'm finding problems with audio and video being out of sync when I make a compliation and its getting kind of frustrating. .

When it comes to Windows, ImgBurn gets my vote. It will burn practically any image file you'll throw at it, and it also has the possibility of burning files straight from the hard drive into the disc (a new feature, AFAIK). You might have to find out some things about CD/DVD filesystems, but having familiarized yourself with that, you won't have any problems whenever you switch to another program.
The only thing that you may miss as a Nero user is that ImgBurn isn't capable of creating (S)VCDs/DVDs from raw movie files. Keep in mind that ImgBurn is entirely free to use, though.
On Linux, I use K3b, even though I'm in a GNOME environment. Unfortunately, I feel that none of the applications written for GTK+ give the user as many possibilities as K3b gives (*cough*Brasero*cough*), what makes it simply the best program when it comes to CD/DVD/BD burning with Linux.

Agree that ImgBurn is good for windows. If you are on a Mac, I suggest VisualHub. Great utility and a great price

Hey Guys
Anyone else want to chime in on this question I've posed. I just got a new imac so I am in the prcoess of purchasing software I need.
I was using Nero 8 for the PC. Can anyone suggestion an easy to use program that once downloaded, I can just pop the torrent files into a folder and burn them to disc. I really liked IMGBURN, but I think that is a Windows based program only. Visualhub seems to be discontinued.
Thanks

I've been using DVDImager
http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/applescript/dvdimager.html
which is free and simple to use.
This creates an image file with you can burn.
But last time I used it I found it no longer worked with Snow Leopard.
Until there's an update, I'm using Burn
http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html
Also free, but has a few quirks which mean you don't always get a burnable image.
Main thing I found was to always have an AUDIO_TS folder (even if empty) in the same directory as the VIDEO_TS folder.
This software allows you to burn directly
Seems to work pretty well, although I've only used it a couple of times so far

Thanks Steve for your information. I will give the Burn program a shot when I'm ready to start the process.
